To celebrate Sleep Awareness Week and the begining of Daylight Savings Time I am sharing my go-to natural sleep aids. I also tell about these in my family medical practice to my patients.
1. Take a bath using Epsom Salt infused with lavender. My favorite is Dr. Teal’s Espon Salt Soaking Solution. It soothes your body for a deeper sleep. It eases muscle tension and aches. Lavender smell promotes sense of relaxation and peace.
2. Drink a cup of Nighty Night Tea while you relax in the bath.
3. Finally, take melatonin supplements. Usually it comes in 3-5mg tablets. Even taking half of the tablet might be sufficient to promote a state of sleepiness. I always have it with me when I travel it makes my going to sleep in a different time zone or environemnet so much easier. I also use it when I need to readjust my sleep post weekend when I need to go to bed earlier.
