Ayurveda Inspired Simple Morning Routine

The root cause of majority of chronic diseases is rooted in the lifestyle that goes against nature.  We go to sleep and get up too late,  eat and multi-task too much and most of us lack daily practices that enhance our health and happiness. The goal of Ayurveda is to bring our entire being into alignment with the harmony of the universe. The signs of that harmonious mind, body and spirit state manifest as stability, strength, stamina, long life, skin luster, clear eyes, radian completion, good immunity, joyful and calm presence. Here are very simple and accessible to all Ayurvedic recommendations that can help to sync your body with the natural rhythms of nature for optimal functioning:
✅ get up early (desirably before sunrise)
✅ empty bladder and intestines
✅brush tongue & teeth
✅hold coconut oil in your mouth and swish for around 5-10 minutes
✅drink 2 glasses of warm water with or without lemon (judge by your own taste)
✅take a walk outdoors, or do some exercise, or practice yoga for 20 minutes
✅mediate for 5 minutes focusing on your breath and setting your intention for the day
✅shower and perform self-massage using oils such as almond or coconut
✅eat small breakfast such as fruit or smoothie or hot oatmeal with flaxseed oil; you can have “second breakfast” that is more hearty when you feel hungry as the morning progresses
✅remember as you start your day not to snack between meals; drink warm water infused with ginger, turmeric throughout the day between meals; if you feel sugar cravings have a teaspoon of honey

This routine can serve as a solid foundation for your day to support your health and well-being.
